My goal once I go back to my regular hours at the day job is designing a less boring splash page. Yeughhh!
We just bought a domain for Under the Dead Skies, there might be some down time as everything transfers over, so thank you for your patience!
Rain makes everything more dramatic!
Gotta start the newest chapter big, am I right?
We all have one. A zombie apocalypse plan. A way to survive if the world comes crumbling down around you and you have only your wits and the will to make it out alive. The problem is that even the best laid plans have a few snags in them.
Very few make it out alive.
Meet “Bethany”. One of the very few.
She had a regular life, family, and friends. Never would have ever considered herself a survivor. Never needed to survive anything besides the occasional family reunion, but here she is, somehow still alive after months, possibly years after the initial outbreak. Bethany doesn’t remember, but it doesn’t matter.
She has a system, it works, and she likes it this way. Never once has she bothered seeking evacuation. Who needs it when she is surviving? Even if she’s lost a bit of her mind along the way, Bethany is doing what people twice her size and ten times her skill level couldn’t do.
As you may guess, her solitude and carefully crafted system eventually hits a snag of its own. A snag that may or may not be more trouble than its worth.
He claims to be immune, and that he has a chance to save humanity, but she suspects the infection has done something to him, if he’s not lying to her all together.
A simple plea for help, to find the evacuation outposts could all be a ruse for getting free food and free weaponry.
…but what if it’s sincere?
Does Beth dare lower her guard for another person? Can she even trust in the first place, or has so many months in solitude made her lose part of her humanity?
As if to make matters worse, the infected wandering the streets don’t seem content with staying the slow, lumbering, easily disposed of creatures that they are.
They are changing.
It’s not as safe to stay in one place as it once was.
And now she is left with a choice.
Does she stay behind, follow her tried and true system and be practically guaranteed to live out her days comfortably by herself, or does she risk it all, and learn to trust again in order to potentially save the world?
This comic started way back in January 4th, 2012 out of a love for both zombie and monster related media, as well as a love of making comics. We just recently wrapped up our fifth chapter which means over 100 pages of full colour content!
You can keep up with our updates, which happen on Fridays, either through the Smackjeeves host itself, or through our comic Tumblr!
We hope you enjoy the journey thus far, as we have barely even started to scratch the surface of this morbid adventure!
Hey guys, we got to do a guest spot on the Counterpress Blog!
I have so many exciting (and horrible) plans for this one!
I am going to be doing a public art stream today since it’s going to be for the cover of chapter 6. Normally this is just for my Patrons so this is a taste of what I usually do for streams.
My mic will be on, so feel free to chat.
I noticed that my donator sub lapsed for the site hosting! I just renewed it, so if you were seeing ads before, they’re gone now!
And that’s the end of chapter 5! This was the longest chapter we’ve put out and I’m super proud of it!
Made it up to page 16 on the most popular pages on Smackjeeves! Highest we’ve ever been! It’s been a good week, and we are SO CLOSE to the end of Chapter 5!
As always, thank you so much for all your support! I’m still humbled by how much this comic has grown over the last couple of years, so thank you, thank you!
